Frequently Asked Questions
Q: DO YOU HAVE PARKING?
A: Free street parking is available on a first come first parked basis. However, we also have our own car park located at the promenade end of the street, access is controlled by lockable bollards and cost is £5 per night. Car park can be booked in advance.
Q: Do you have en-suite rooms?
A: Yes all our rooms are en-suite (shower).
Q: Do you supply towels?
A: Yes we supply a bath sheet and a hand towel per person.
Q: Do you supply toiletries?
A: Yes there is a selection of guest toiletries in each en-suite, these toiletries are complementary but are not replenishable. If you do require them replenished please ask.
Q: Is there tea/coffee facilities?
A: Yes we provide tea and coffee facilities in each room. There are also complementary biscuits, mints and water in your room on your arrival.
Q: Do you have Televisions in the room?
A: Yes we have LCD/LED TVs in all the bedrooms with built in Freeview. 19 inch televisions in most rooms. 32 inch in the the 4 premier rooms.
Q: Do you have Ipod docking stations?
A: Yes we provide iPod docking stations in every bedroom (supports non-Lightning versions).
Q: Is there alarm clocks?
A. Yes there are alarm clocks in the bedrooms, these are built in to the iPod docking stations.
Q: Is there WiFi?
A: Yes there is a free WiFi facility throughout the Guest House.
Q: Is there central heating?
A: Yes we have central heating throughout the guest house.
Q: Is breakfast included in the price?
A: Yes breakfast is included in the price and consists of a wide choice of cereals, yoghurts, and a varied cooked menu.
Q: Do you offer evening meal?
A: Sorry no..
Q: What if we want to eat out, can you recommend somewhere?
A: Yes we can from Chinese, Indian, Italian and Steak houses or even the local fish and chip shop.
Q: When is your bar open?
A: Our bar is open as long as we are around. We do however close the bar on an evening between 10:30 if no one is in the bar.
Q: Do we have to be in by a certain time?
A: No. As well as a key for your room you get a key for the front door to come and go as you please. All we ask is that if you come in late you respect that others may already be asleep.
Q: Do you cater for vegetarians?
A: Yes we do cater for vegetarians and other dietary requirements. Please state at time of booking.
Q: Do you take pets?
A: Sorry, No.
Q: Do you have smoking rooms?
A: No. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building. There is a seated area outside the front where smoking is permitted.
Q: Do you take stag or hen parties?
A: No we do not take stag or hen parties. We do take small groups and would welcome family groups.
Q: Do you cater for special occasions?
A: Yes we have special rooms such as our Executive Kings or King. We can also arrange for flowers, chocolates and champagne/wine at reasonable cost. Please discuss at time of booking.
Q: Your check in time states 2pm can we check in early?
A: If you arrive early and your room is ready we do allow check in. If you arrive early and your room is not ready we can look after your luggage while you go around Blackpool and then come back later to complete check in.
Q: Your latest time for check in is 10pm, what if we are going to arrive late?
A: If you are running late then please call us to let us know that you are still coming. Telephone number is on your confirmation document. If we do not receive a call we will assume that you will not be arriving and will be classed as a no show and charged accordingly.
Q: Your check out time is 10am can we have a late checkout?
A: Yes, a small fee of £10 is payable. However this is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. We will look after your luggage if you have a late train or coach etc.
Q: Do you have Sky Sports or ESPN.
A: Yes we have Sky Sports and ESPN in the Bar/lounge area.
Q: Do you take children
A: Yes we take children aged 10 and upwards.
Q: Can takeaways be brought back into the guest house?
A: Not into the bedrooms but we do allow takeaways to be consumed in the dining room, subject to conditions.
Q: Do you have disabled access?
A: The simple answer is no as we do not have any ground floor letting bedrooms. However if you can make it up one flight of stairs we have additional hand rails to assist you. You can also hire wheelchairs and/or mobility scooters in Blackpool and we have hire details.
Q: Are you accredited?
A: Yes we are accredited and have been awarded a 4 star gold guest accommodation award by Enjoy England as well as the Breakfast Award (only awarded to around 9% of businesses in the scheme).
Q: Can we bring our own alcohol into the guest house?
A: No we have a licensed bar. We do allow drinks from the bar to be taken to the rooms.
Q: Can we bring guests into the bar?
A: Our license is for residents only. However with prior notice you can bring guests into the bar as your guests. Non residents are not permitted into the rooms.
Q: How far are you from the Train Station?
A: The main station for Blackpool is Blackpool North which you could walk from but it would take you around 25 minutes or a taxi would cost around £7. Blackpool South is closer and only a 10 minute walk to the Arthington.
Q: Are you close to Blackpool Airport?
A: A taxi from the airport would cost around £7.
Q: How far are you from Blackpool Pleasure Beach?
A: We are a 10 minute stroll along the promenade to the Pleasure Beach.
Q: How far are you from Blackpool Tower?
A: We are a 15 minute stroll along the promenade to the Blackpool Tower.
Q: Haw far are you from Blackpool Football Ground?
A: We are only a 2 minute walk from Bloomfield Road, Blackpool Football Club.
Q: How far are you from Blackpool Winter Gardens?
A: We are a 15 minute walk to the Blackpool Winter Gardens.
Q: How far are you from Blackpool Madame Tussauds?
A: We are a 10 minute walk to the new Blackpool Madame Tussauds.
Q: How far are you from the beach?
A: We are just over 100 metres from the beach.
Q: Is there a cinema nearby?
A: Yes the Odeon cinema is only 10 minute walk away.
Q: How do we get to Freeport and Cleveleys?
A: You can either catch a bus from the Lytham Road end of the street, a tram from the promenade end of the street or we can get a taxi from the hotel for you.
Q: Are there emergency medical services available.
A: Yes as well as the normal 999 service there is a Blackpool walk in centre located on Whitegate Drive, a short taxi ride away.
Q: Is there a convenience shop nearby?
A: Yes there are several within walking distance including a Tesco Express.
Q: Is there a hairdresser nearby?
A: Yes on Lytham Road just 5 minutes walk. You may need to book and we can supply telephone number.
Q: Do you offer fair trade goods?
A: We do offer a selection of fair trade specialty teas and coffees which includes the coffee beans used to make our cappuccinos and other specialty coffees.

Q: How do we check availability?
A: You can check our diary online via our website using the book online facility, send us an email or call us by phone.
Q: Do you accept payments by card?
A: Yes we accept most debit/credit cards for payment. We do not accept American Express.
Q: Do we need to pay a deposit?
A: Yes, deposit of £20 per adult is payable at time of booking by debit/credit card.
Q: Is deposit refundable?
A: No deposit is non-refundable and non transferable.
Q: How do we pay the balance of our booking?
A: Balance is payable on arrival by Card or Cash.
Q: Are you open all year?
A: Yes we are open all year.

Q: Is it easy to get a taxi from your guest house?
A: Yes we will call you a taxi when you require one.
